Certificate II in Security Operations

As part of Crown's 500 Training Places program, this course is available only to:

* people affected by redundancies, with preference given to people from the automotative industry
* Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
* new immigrants
* women in crisis

The CPP20212 Certificate II in Security Operations qualification aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to provide security services, including crowd control and unarmed guarding. The course covers: 

     * legislation relevant to the industry
     * communication skills
     * customer service
     * teamwork
     * first aid
     * managing intoxicated persons
     * reporting security incidents
     * occupational health and safety
     * basic restraints
     * emergency procedures.

After successfully completing this qualification, you will fulfil the requisites to apply for a security licence from Victoria Police, with the sub-activities of Crowd Controller and Unarmed Guard.

Entry Requirements

  • Be 18 years of age or over
  • Be a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or a permanent resident of Australia
  • Satisfactorily complete the Crown College Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment
  • Attend an information session at Crown Training


Duration and Attendance


The estimated duration of the daytime course is:                  18 working days - Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm

The estimated duration of the evening course is:                  36 evenings - Monday to Friday 6:30pm - 10:30pm
